and now on fabric with a tutorial….

Tsukineko inks, shaving cream, muslin

Now how about I show you what I did?

I watched this vendor demonstrate this several times with such ease

but I am still experimenting.

First, supplies…

inexpensive shaving cream, a shallow container to hold the shaving cream once it is dispensed, paper/fabric to take the ink, pipettes (or something to transfer drops of ink), and ink.

Oh! and a squeegee!

(I have the fancy one since it came with the kit I purchased!)

Squirt some shaving cream into your shallow container and spread it around…

Add drops of ink onto the shaving cream….

Stir the inks around with your squeegee or a plastic fork or some such tool…

(this particular sample did not turn out so beautifully… live and learn)

Place your paper/fabric face down into the ink/shaving cream…

(not an awesome photo… sorry!)

Make sure to pat your paper/fabric down for good coverage!

Remove the paper/fabric and scrape the shaving cream off the paper/fabric with your squeegee..

et voila!!!

Heat set before washing!!!!

Easy peasy, right?

Have fun!!!

An ATC-less day..

I can explain!

After returning late last night from a bus trip to Lancaster PA for a quilt show and plenty of shopping…

There was some cleaning and rearranging to be done…

and a quilt to be finished…

see more here.

Some days, there isn’t an ATC in me!

But there is always tomorrow!

Simple but shiny :-)

Nuff said..

A simple start…

I didn’t stay up late to “watch the ball drop”

I went to bed around 10 (which is late for me!) and I am still up early.

So much to do!
