Check out Vicki’s ATC too!
I am not the kind of person to wait until January 1st to set new goals, “resolutions” if you will. When I decide that I want to change something in my life, I just do it… why wait until January 1st?!!!
For example, I decided to become vegan , after almost 10 years of vegetarianism, after a gluttonous Thanksgiving 2009…. it just happened then, I didn’t wait and I haven’t turned back. I decided this past February to challenge myself to run in a race…. three races now under my belt and I hope to add more this coming spring. And two days ago, I decided to give up coffee…again ……well, at least, temporarily.
That said, I did more recently set myself a goal to complete the making of my daughter’s already overdue birthday quilt by the end of this calendar year. Her birthday was at the end of July, for goodness sake!
And I made it!!!
(it’s almost too big to get into the photo!)
In spite of not feeling well, I managed to put on the last border two days ago! This is by far my largest quilt to date, measuring 98″x98″!!!
And this morning, I sewed the last stitches into the gargantuan (108″x108″) backing, made up fabrics used on the top (without having to go out and buy more!)
This will also be the first quilt that I will have someone else quilt for me. It is just too big and cumbersome for my little Bernina.
So… now, I am looking forward to creating small stuff.
And even though, I don’t make resolutions on January 1st, I am committed to making art every day this year, however small it may be! Hope you will join me!
